Attorneys Joshua A. Hawks-Ladds, co-chair of the firm’s Labor, Employment Law and Employee Benefits practice, and Bianca LoGiurato will present a session on how to manage and support employees who require accommodations to address challenges associated with a range of mental health and neurodivergent conditions, such as anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Key topics include: - A refresher on employer obligations under the ADA and CFEPA; - Guidance on the “interactive process” and determining appropriate accommodations or when an “undue hardship” is present; - Discussion on how to create an inclusive and productive environment for all employees; and - How documentation and workplace policies can help mitigate future problems.
